I can't believe this has never had a posting here. Hey all you chemistry guys, talk to us about carbon activated water. Any of you guys up in SD use this stuff?

Sorry, my comment was not meant to be gender specific. Thanks for the response. I think they are located in Rapid City. 60 Minutes did a segment on this company back in the '80s.

Matt,
looks like a bunch of phoney baloney to me. The person who put up the data on the web site doens't know anything about math or Chemisty.

Here is the mixure.
"Water 99.3%
Sodium Metasilicate 87.5%
Sulfated Castor Oil 11.5%
CAW Micelle 0.39
Refined Lignite 0.23%
Calcium Chloride 0.4%
Magnesium Sulfate 0.4%"

So add up all the numbers and you get 199.72%
Well when you break something down into its componets you have to by defintion end up with 100%.

This anology maks no sense. Diamond and graphite are both soilds made of carbon with different crystalling bonding structures.

The Water they are talking about is a liquid. Not a solid. It is a crytal when it is ice. adding stuff to liquid water makes a mixture not a different crystalling structure.

Will it help AG plants grow? who knows... but I wouldn't think so.

Would not a shovel full of ashes from the fireplace in time return similar benifits through the composting process? To many questionable words and anology assumptions in the above for my simple mind. :) Interesting in spite of my Dutch doubts. If the glove don't fit it 'aint worth a shoobootle. Throw it out. :))
