I have an experiment going with an I-V drip into one of my pumpkin plants with just plain water. I can't believe the difference compaired to the other two plants that I just water with a hose! So far the stump looks really healthy and the entire plant looks very pleased. And, it is the conversation piece when my friends come over to see the garden.

Sorry bjx2, no supplies. It's not milk, just plain water from the well.

hmmmm, dont think the plant can uptake anything from there, may promote disease

Stump still feels solid and the plant is growing very well. It took about 10 gallons this past 24 hour period. Leaves are still dark green and the pumpkin that is set is doing well also.

10 to 1 that it will not work You now have 80 pounds of water sitting at the bottom of your pumpkin. It will be quite a smell when you open it up.
