I switched to a balanced (20-20-20)m water soluble fertilizer and foliar fed my plants a couple of nights ago.I noticed this morning that a lot of new growth is yellowed/burned looking. Is this caused by my watering? I thought Peters/Miracle Gro were safe for my plants? Did i fertilize too much? I didn't do it during the day to avoid burning from the sun. Fellow veterans of the Pumpkin world, what might your hypothesis be?? Thanks for the help!!

Hey Greenhorn,I used 20-20-20 about 5 days ago and i have lots of yellowing around the edges of the leaves.Mine was the Schultz brand.I think i probably over did it.I don't guess it hurt anything because i can't get a pumpkin to set.I have about given up.

Good ole boy, i too noticed that on my plants alot of the tiny females turned yellow(aborting). i'm thinking that i watered with too much fertilizer for the size of the plant at the time. Live and learn,i guess. Don't give up though.

I have found that new growth is very suseptable to leaf burn especially in elevated temps where the leaves flag. I try not to foiler feed if the temp is expected to be much over 85 degrees. I suppose for you Mississippi folks thats about every day! May want to stick with granular fertilizer, Best of luck....
