Would horse sweet feed be a good source of molasses if spread on the patch during early spring sort of a like a granular application?

Mark, you have my curiosity up now, what is sweet feed? I am guessing some type of mixed grain stuff, with molasses...combination of O/M and molasses? Should break down quickly??? Sorry. I don't have an answer, but hoping one comes soon!!! Peace, Wayne

Mark, I get feed grade molasses for less than $2 a gallon at the mill. I think that using it in drenches would be far more cost affective than spending the money on the feed product in general. Take the savings and invest in some "meals" let the drench get that stuff working in the soil and boost the worm count at the same time.

you can get dried molasses I think I paid 11.95 last year for 50# at framer supply I put it on my compost pile and corn meal the worms love it

Mark, the sweet feed that our trainer feeds the racehorses is very expensive and comes out the other end in a very useable form.

Way too expensive a product to turn into your soil out of the bag and would most likely not break down as quickly as you may like.

Mark at my COOP feed and grain supply molasses is sold by the pound at 16 cents in bulk, just have to bring in your container. John
