With the mild temps over the last week, a good deal of my patch is now exposed. Is there any benefit in adding molasses now?
Also, I read that a solution of 1 oz. per gallon is about right. What would be the application rate over say 1000 sq. feet. How many gallons and how do most of you apply the solution. Thanks.

Andy There is little growth of soil organisms at this time of year so the benefit is minor. However you can still apply molasses at this time of year.

4oz per gallon per 1000 is good at this time of year.

Andy, I usually use the dried flaked kind of molasses that is usually used as a feed supplement. I don't know if the liquid form can be leached off of the patch in the spring run off. I believe this may be a factor you might want to consider.

Yeah I kinda figured Russ, I think anything that I applied this time of year would run off before doing much good. I was just getting the itch to work on my patch.
