Alot. It depends on how big the plant is, how the watering is done and your soil make up. 80-120 gallons per day per plant.

It makes a lot of diferance in the temps 80 degrees & maybe 300 gallons every three days, NOW 100* and You will need 300 gallons everyday, Over 100* & even more water !! For 500 sq ft These are just aproxamates !

Geez Kevin and Glenn....you telling me that my 2 gallons every second day from my watering can is not enough!!

We've had no rain in quite some time and pretty good weather (not California weather) but non the less have been watering 120 gallons per plant every second day.....after watching Lords of the Gourds again, I may up that a bit more later on in August.

Do you water that much thru Sept... When it gets cooler? Can you tell if your pumpkin responds to the amount of water?
Thank for your advise... Greg

1 - 1.5" per week = 250 - 370 gals for a 400 sq ft plant.

A straight sided tuna can is good in the absence of a conventional rain gauge.
