...and my thoughts would be that your possibly disturbing and destroying the delicate organic mircobes with those kind of high P and K values. Good question Captain.

Never tried the stuff (would kind of scare me to put it on late season as well) but based on a recent post by Tremor I can answer Alex's question in regards to mycorrhizal...

I used it this year with good results. You just add 1 to 3 tablespoons per gallon I believe it was. I don't think you can go wrong with any product that Joel sells if you use it like he says too.

Thanks ArvadaBoy, I still question the use of ready mix chemical fertilizer with high numbers in regards to the salts killing off the mycorrhizal and other beneficials. I have read that you are supposed to be able to use the high doses once the myco is "established" but I'm not sure if that means they are not affected at that point or it just means you can kill a lot of it but there is still enough to support the plant. Not sure.

I had my giant pumpkin roots tested this year for percentage of Endomycorrhizal inoculation. 30% is condsidered good. I had 66% colonization with several species of Endomycorrhizal Fungi, and this is after using Blossom Booster & Fruit Finisher as well as the rest of our feeding schedule. The complete test results and procedures are on our 2008 DVD at www.hollandsgiants.com Also featured is Dr. Michael Amaranthus, one of the leading authorities on mycorrhizae. You will see how mycorrhizae is produced and how it benefits over 300,000 species of vascular plants. Thank you
