Hi guys, it seems that Gypsum give help for AG growers, but how to use it, i have just a 5 kgs bag and want to add it now to the patch, thanks a lot !

gypsum adds calcium to your soil without changing your soils ph (from what the folks that produce gypsum have told me) and is a soil conditioner (helps improve soil tilth in both clay or sandy soils ) and how fast gypsum will benifit your soil depends on amount you apply / agaist how much you need and weather conditions will also effect how fast/slow it works in your soil i know you were looking for it is at full effect in x days but i can't give you an exact time frame

You want to use the granular or pellatized gypsum. The real fine powdered stuff will blow around in the wind too much. Randy is right gypsum will raise calcium but not pH. I had a new patch in 2006; in April I added 450lbs of gypsum to the 2700 square foot area. by November the calcium level had increased from 1200 ppm to 3600 ppm. Add it as soon as conditions allow you to till. It takes some time before the calcium becomes available to the roots in soil.

yes, i have a real fine powdered gypsum so can you think it is better to make the calcium up in a few time than granular ? Thanks a lot guys, answers help me !

before you apply your powdered gypsum i would wait for a non windy day and get it tilled in as quick as possible
