for those of you who use weed and feed. yeah it kills weeds but and it will kill your trees if applied when temp. is 85 degrees or more. in case you are not aware weed and feed has 2-4d. the 2-4d will evaporate and cling to trees, or if the wind is blowing it may go over your pumpkin patch. not good for pumpkins. when applying it to your lawn, your lawn is supposed to be wet so that it will stick to the grass and weed leaves.last year i put some on my lawn before it rained thinking it would work good that way. i was wrong. since i have well i don't want to be drinking the stuff either! anyway no more weed and feed for me.

Ester forms of 2,4-D will volatilize at high temps. Amine forms do NOT volatilize ever. Of course granular amines don't work either so....LOL
