the sulfur in k-mag. I assume that it will hopefully bring my ph down. Is my assumtion right?

You are correct as long as you apply enough. k-Mag is usually 24% sulfur, so you would need 375 lbs to equal 100lbs of 90% sulfur. Keep in mind you are also applying potash and may end up with too much before you get your pH in line.

What is your soil pH now? Is your soil a limestone base?

Sorry for late reply. I actually forgot I posted this. My PH is 7.3 on a 800'sq patch. the reson for high ph used to much city compost which must have been full of ashes.

You pH is slightly high but not really a problem. If you are applying k-mag for thr potassium and the magnesium, the sulfur may work you pH down over time.
