I have my own version I'm trying. I have 8 pds of fish (everything but the fillets) that I got from a fish market. Chopped up, put in a 5 gallon container, filled with water, some mollases.

You can make your own. Do a web search. Richard you have it almost right. Add about two gallons of compost and cover it and let it set for two to three weeks. Then drain off the liquid.

I think making your own stuff over buying a product is way cool, like building your own hoophouses, however, your cost vs. your time and damage potential making a bad brew of fish juice might call for some consideration. Just be careful fellas!

This could easily be a very bad scene. There's nothing quite like rotten fish smell. First year of college in the dorms we got to pranking one-another really bad. I ended up hiding a half-eaten can of sardines in the closet of the guy across the hall. Got him GOOD.


I'd try it with a pound of fish first.

Today I took my 5 gallon containers, one of seaweed, one of fish emulsion, put them both in a blender, put them back in there containers, now there sitting for a few more months, decomposing, kind of like a bass-o-matic. I plan on using them for drenching, I also bought a bottle of neptunes harvest seaweed/fish emulsion for foliar.

KELP EMULSION LIQUID

I think it is interesting :

To make your own liquid kelp, add a couple handfuls of seaweed to a 5-gallon bucket of water. Stir the concoction daily for a few days, then strain and dilute it using the ratio of 1 part kelp liquid to 2 parts water.

Any sprayer or mister will work, from hand-trigger units to backpack models. The best times to spray are early morning and early evening, when the liquids will be absorbed most quickly. Spray the tops and bottoms of leaves until the liquid drips off the leaves.
