I live near the Atlantic Ocean (Bay of Fundy) and have access to the bladder type seaweed that is used to make that pricey fertilizer that everyone uses. Does anyone know if it can be made in a blender perhaps? I pick dulse regulary (edible seaweed) and had some kicking around so I washed it and put it in the blender to make a purple concoction but am a little wary to use it.After a couple of days, a thick furry growth appeared on the top so I stirred it and watered it down.I wonder if dulse can be used instead because a bag is not expensive around here and sure has a lot of nutrients in it.Anyone have some thoughts?

I think it was in how to grow world class giant pumpkins 2. A grower I believe washed out the salt then put it on his patch.

Sorry,I should have been more clearer. I want to make stuff that is sprayable ,same as the liquid that you buy in the store. I was wondering maybe if they cook it or something. It is so plentiful.I wonder how they justify the cost of the stuff because I can grab with one hand enough seaweed to stuff in one of those bottles,but if I could get 20 bucks for it ,or whatever they charge....well I'm thinkin maybe I'm in the wrong line of work.

I mader somethis year, I bought some seaweed, I put it thru a paper shredder,baked it just tell it got a little crispy, filled my blender half full of seaweed, half filled with water, filled my 5 gallon container this way, added some mollases, it sat, shaken once a day for 2 months, I strained it just the other day, I plan on drenching with it, I thinkit will work.

make my own, have the kids collect it on the beach in main, put it up on large screens wash all the salt out let sit and dry in the sun for a few weeks, mother nature will wash it a little more with rain, once dry i crush it up with a 2x4 then add to gallon jugs (or liters as they call them up north) fill with water let steep in sun for a week or so, then screen with cheesecloth and spray.
