A few post down, I asked about using Oats to increase biomass in my soil.

I forgot to ask, what type of oats should I use. I am city folk here, so I have no idea what I should go buy. Is oat grass (for cats) the same as oats? What should I be getting for a Colorado climate with colder soils until end of may?

Thanks for any help.

Oats love the cold weather in the spring. Oats hate hot weather. I buy mine at a local feed and grain store. I just use plain oats that they use in there cow and horse feed. No need to buy certified oats.
