When is the right time of the growing season to feed the plants phosphorous? {assuming the soil needs it}. I couldn't find super phosphate so I got the triple stuff.I'm assuming I need to be careful with the triple as far as how much to add.

Just prior to flowering. Most of CT has too much P. Did you get a soil test?

No, but i would almost bet the farm that this soil is lacking just about everything.It is newly broken ground as of last season. Before I cleared it and tilled it, it was scrub, prickers and such. The soil is extremely clay, so much so that after tilling, the chunks dry out literally hard as rocks.I've added manure and lime and grass clippings but it will take some time to get this soil right.
