Don't worry. Pumpkins can't read fertilizer labels. Growers often get too hung up on the percentages.

A good finishing fertilizer has a 1-1-2 like ratio.

By the way....We still use a lower Potash fert now. Too much K too early can cause prematuration.

Not trying to hijack your message thread but, is there a maximum number of K to use for later in the season and when do you switch to the K focus fertilizers?

Joetterer. Yes, make a bed of sand, enough to cushion and not let the pumpkin touch soil. You're on track if your pumpkin is growin. Pumpkins don't know regions.

A soil test is necessary for accurate K rates at season-end. Switch to K during the rapid-growth period but not too quickly as Tremor has advised.

Max % of a K fert that I know is 0-0-60. Most common though is 0-0-50 (K-Sulphate), 0-0-60 (Potash), muriate of potash (Potassium Chloride)
