For a deffinate answer you would need more information. Some needed would be. How far down is the water level from where the pump would be placed, this is your suction lift. Next you need to know how many feet of rise it is from where the pump is placed to the highest point of the system (ie.sprinkler top), this is your head distance. Knowing that information will allow you to see if the pump is strong enough to get the water there before you purchase it. Most water/trash pumps dont push alot of pressure. I purchased a 11hp several years ago to water from a creek and it would get the water there but wouldnt run a single impulse sprinkler. I took the motor off and pulleyed it down and hooked it to a PTO pump for a tractor and could run 2 sprinklers. I dont remember the head lift exactly but it was over 125 feet. As the head goes up the pressure drops. There are gas pumps that are made for irrigation and are high pressure pumps but they have high price tags on them. So yes it can be done one way or another but I would try to do the math before getting a pump and finding out it just wont quite do it and not being able to return it. Just my 2 pennys though.

From my old days at OSU, Bernoulli's equation comes to mind(I hope I spelled it right).
