It seems everytime I foliar with nutri-cal I get a growth explosion of vine growth. I dilute 1 oz per gallon. Does anyone else experience this?

Dave,
Although nutri-cal is a great product to get calcium into the plant tissues it is being carried there by nitrogen. Thus a lot of green growth. The downside of this in my opinion is that once you have a good fruit growing one should avoid introducing nitrogen to the plant.
If you can find a potassium based fertilizer that has calcium in it it may be better once fruit is growing.

Cornhusk, does that mean Neptune's Harvest 2-3-1 is a bad idea after fruit is growing? I have a 14 day fruit which is my keeper. I am still spraying low strength neptunes foliar.

I think Neptune's Harvest has been used successfully throughout the growing season and maybe another grower or two will weigh in on this thread with their experiences. It is fairly common to use a seaweed/kelp product once the fruit gets putting on lots of weight. If your fruit is putting on weight to your satisfaction then keep up the good work. I've experienced fruits "ripening" early if nitrogen is given (after fruit has begun packing on the pounds)...... quick burst, hardening of skin, and slowed growth. Good Luck
