As soon as I set the seedlings in the ground, I hit 'em with high phosphorus fertilizer every other day for about 20 days, then switch to high nitrogen 'till a week or so prior to pollination time.

I realized that when the weather is warm and dry is better to cut fertirrigation back, because of the risk of increase salt levels and make water roots uptake harder.
I've check that after a happy fertirrigation of hybrid zucchinnis; oh, they did wilt... a lot.
Is better fertirrigate during cool and wet days, if you can choose.

My soil tested at 36 for phosphorus. The report said that was high. Should I still use a high phosphorus fertilizer? Thank you for any information you give. Dottie

Yes, has my opinion you can spray during some days with a strong fertilizer there phosphorqiue, it will allow you to have a better implanting and a very good force in your plantation, in spite of you have 36 phosphor, but does not spray more than 10 days just for the starting up. One keeps posted.Jeanlouis
