I've been using the old style Miracle grow spray head but feel I'm just wasting ferts with inaccurate distribution with this set-up?

Someone posted last year that the Miracle-Gro sprayer is worthless for evenly spraying fertilizer.

Tom Privitera would be knowledgeable about this.

I dont really use the irrigation system to foliar feed, I will however put compost tea through it, or if I feel that I want to replenish the soil/rootzone with nutrients, I will mix up some kelp and whatever I feel I need to add, and I will pump it from a drum through the syste.
Once your plant is mature, this irrigation system is designed to supply water under the leaf canopy in a complete uniform pattern.
We do have an Ortho hose end sprayer, you add Neptune's fish for instance, set the dial for the proper dilution rate (1oz)and spray away. The beauty of this is that no water actually mixes with the product, you can pour anything left over back into its container.
We will use this until we need the Stihl SR420

Thanks for the replys. The great thing about the Dan micro heads are the conical spray pattern upward to all those Stomates under the leaves. The micro creases those stomates make opening and closing at the transition from light to dark on those low humidity evenings are a great way of foliar feeding the plants. Taking advantage of the even coverage these heads can achieve with fish and seaweed with a sticker makes sense. I wish their was a ortho style head that would be able to be attached to a hose at both ends? I guess I could shell out the big bucks and go with a EZ-Flo set up or just get a small manzetti style injector?

Be careful with the syphon hoses, I had two, both worked great for a week then stopped working.

milford, CT,

I have a hozon syphon injector..I always have trouble getting it to flow..so..I went to the website and they explained that if their is excessive back pressure that the siphon valve closes...they recommend using larger diameter hose and not to use adjustable spray nozzles....so..I have to figure out how to relieve the back pressure. Otherwise when I can get it to work it is a great way to add seaweed/fish whenever I water.
