Picked up a bag of Urea today from the garden store (46% N). I've come up with various opinions on google about application rates per acre for gardening in general but couldn't find anything specific to pumpkins.
My major concern is not wanting to "nuke" my plants with overfertilization. Anyone with experience want to chime in with how much is safe to put down. Many thanks,

Michael

Don't use it if pumpkins are already planted. I use Urea every year when I plant a cover crop. Might hit my cover crop with a very, very low amount after it's 4-6 inches high. But would never think of using it on my pumpkins.

Thanks for the info. Don't want to do the plants any harm. Will keep it around for the fall cover crop.

I have used Nitrate of Soda...14-0-0..Soluable..That other stuff is too strong for me..Once they start going and the temps warm up a lot of nitrogen is available..ark

I have it in my garden this year.Everything is growing really well.Application rate is one cup per 100 sq. ft.Worked this into soil in early spring.I think the key to soil tests is BALANCE.Yes...this is some powerful stuff and can burn.Don't think I would add that now.Nitrate of Soda...Hmmmm..Sodium Nitrate.I thought you cannot buy that anymore??

Urea, I use it every year, I really think it will help with growth as every thing is so far behind. Remember a little goes a long way!
