This winter I bought an electronic moisture probe. You can measure the moisture level at different depths. Interesting observation..My soil is dry in the top 3 inches..but 6 inches down it reads high moisture. I dug 1 foot down and found exactly what it said..wet soil after 5 inches..Nice tool..Mark

Update on the Moisture Probe..It works great..I was going to water today because the soil looked bone dry...meter said 8 inches down it was still very wet..dug down..it was true..very wet..Great tool..Mark
