A wall street lawyer would point out that on the day you are delivering the water the relative humidity will likely be such that the evaporation and method of delivery may make you increase the gallons, by as much as fifty percent, to get a "delivered" or 'useable inch.

Put a catch pan in the center of the sprinkler delivery patern. That will show you an inch of delivered or useable water.

If you are figuring pump volume or costs use 1200 gallons for estimating purpose to deliver one inch useable.
