watering twice a day in my barrel/drip system to the plants. the amount i am giving would exceed the 1 inch per sq ft per week, but have to do it to keep them upright in this heat. seems like other growers are giving as much water as the plant needs to prevent wilt, but how much is too much before you blow your fruit or promote fungus? im at about day 25 on fruit--doing fine right now-i guess we'll see how it takes 100 degrees.

Justin, the current weather demands more water than would normally be required. I would not be afraid to make adjustments if your observations indicate that the plants need it. There is no general rule that will cover everyones situation.

wish we could use that amount of water here.....during these hot days of over 100°.....each plant gets aroun 500 gallons of water per day. keep in mind that our soil is about the consistency of coffee grounds, different soil types take lesser amounts of water.....grow em BIG!
