What do other growers use when they bury their vines? I'm considering mixing equal parts mycorhiza, kelpmeal, and bone meal and sprinkling it over the vines before burying.

I mix myco with Jobes Organics and Espoma organic fertilizers with beneficial bacteria. Seems to help with disease problems and vines grow like crazy. Pumpkin size keeps increasing too.

Ben, throw in a little humic acid too with the Kelp and Myco. Was recommended to me by a great grower.

I add RTI Mycho, Root Shield, and granular Humic. I prune tendrals to stimulate root developement. I spray the nodes with CG351 solution (rooting hormone). This year I will be using leaf compost to burry vines.

I would strongly recomend against using any granular fertilizers in the trench, even SOP.

I started putting a teaspoon of extreme blend from the extreme pumpkin store at every node plus a little myco. I'm still learning but the extreme blend seems to have just about everything I hear others put on when they bury the vines.

jrgourd, I put castings in my mix a couple years ago. I found that you have to use it up right away or you can get mosd starting to grow in the mix kept in a ziplock bag. Not sure what that would do in the soil.
