I have had 3 leaves fall over and die. All the leaves looked good, with no sign of any thing wrong until I find them on the ground. All the stems where buried an inch or two with dirt. Below where they were buried they seem to have rotted. Does the moisture in the dirt cause them to do this, do bugs in the soil cause them to do this, or is it something else???

3 leaves is not a big loss, but i don't want it to become a problem. So, is there anything that I can do to prevent this from happening?

Thanks Justin

but maybe it is my fertilizing and watering techniques that caused it :) Could it be?

I have a feeling that too much water might be the cause. Not sure though. I had a problem with some of my leaves starting to wilt, and so I backed off on my watering a bit and they came back just fine.

I think that cover the vines with dirt creates a crisp shell around the outside of the leaf's stem, making them brittle and vulnerable to wind and what not..... I don't think it is too much water because we haven't had much rain... but it looks like we might get some today....I hope so:)

Thanks for the response though.
