Has anyone used this timer http://www.irrigationdirect.com/rain-drip-r673-replacement

I saw a video and have read about diaphragm failure on water timers, this one uses a internal ball valve, but the ball valves use more battery life (Ive heard)

have you used any type of ball valve timers, Gilmore also makes them.

I have never had one of mine fail.. sellers ploy maybe. I would just get one at home depot and save money on shipping. Just check and see how many times it will turn on and off a day. some do 4 times some up to 10 times. Hope this helps

Oh and the rain drip pro uses the same shut off mechanism as the rest. The ball valve it talks about is a y valve. http://www.rvwholesalers.com/catalog/double-y-valve-brass-10-0800.html?gclid=CJm9uNrynbQCFcKPPAodig8AYA

It has an internal ball valve "When installing the batteries, you will hear the timer’s motor activate for about 5 seconds. This is the timer’s startup mode and it insures that the internal ball valve is in the off position."

oops your right, my bad. most use a solenoid, I never had one leak. I've got that one to marley and its a good one.

I've only needed to water up to 4 times a day. That.s in 5gal buckets. they use up water fast in a hot day. If your needing a timer for cooling then I would get on that can use more on/off times per day. Boy I'm bored. lol
