Can anyone tell me which manures are better as we have a very limited supply of manure here on the island.
we have a few cows but not many and a few donkeys and horses but mainly goats . We do have a few camels here as well but not sure about this as a source of manure
If anyone knows which ones would be good or if a combination would work as what we have is limited and is normally only one to two years old

Use what you have available, nothing wrong with goat manure. At the end of the day you want the best soil, and if choises are limited, any manure wil be better then non what so ever.

One analysis I just read has sheep/goat manure n-p-k levels second only to chicken manure. If it's 1-2 years old, it's probably ok to use. Anything fresher than that could "burn" crops.

At the moment i am trying to find somewhere that can do a soil test for me. small island not many places that can do that sort of thing here.
My first impressions are that there is little organic matter in the soil where i have my patch

A quick way to add organic material is to plant buckwheat and till it in before it starts to flower. You may have to send your soil off island for testing. The European Growers(egvga.webs.com) could help, or post on the "pumpkin growing in Europe" message board on this web site.

I tend to stay away from horse mainly because they don't break down there food as much as some of the other animals and what you could end up with is a lot of weeds. My main source is Alpaca,Processed cow manure, Rabbit. Enevitably you will most alway have weeds but I have found horse to have a lot of it. I agree with the others that sheep manure is good as well.

Put your soil in a jar. Equal amounts of soil..to water. Shake the crap out of it and place it somewhere to settle for a couple days...this is an old fashion method for telling soil tyope

Is fish easy to come by? start getting fish, chopped up and burry in patch. That's what I would do, it is a great fertilizer!
