We have our first ever patch this year. We are in the Central Valley of Ca. We have used 11-52-0 to fertilize since the start and are almost ready to pollinate. We have JUST seen female flowers. After we pollinate, whats the best fertilizer?

You should probably slack off the fertilizer until you get a pumpkin set. Once you get your pumpkins set you can begin fertilizing with something that stresses potassium. I use a fertilizer from Age Old Organics (www.fertilegrower.com) which is a 5-10-40 and it seems to work real well. Many people however, just use Miracle Grow. You should also continue to apply fish and seaweed fertilizers to supply the plant with the micronutrients it needs. Hope this helps!

Mactar is right, but I went to a firtilizer dealer last week and they sugjested Petters 20-20-20 water soluble for our area, we just started to use it so I cant realy say what it is going to do.

Yo Jeff,
Don't fertilize for a few days from when the female starts to bloom, give it 5-6 days and then use a high potash feed, like 5-10-40....10-10-30..etc.
