Iam going to try growing some "atlantic Giant" pumpkins this year and was wondering whats the best if any manure is good,cow or sheep or chicken.I have some local farms that I can get some.What about seaweed? It seems everyone is talking about some sort of seaweed derivative,I have access to lots right of the beach? What are your thoughts ? Thanks

Cow, chicken, and horse manure are great to use, but make sure they are composted completely. They can burn your plants if you use too much. Sheep, goat, and llama manures are easier to use and don't burn if you use a lot. If you are going to use seaweed from a beach make sure to wash off any salt that might be on the seaweed(if they are from saltwater). Let them dry out in the sun. Then work into the patch.

Rabbit manure is very safe. Fish and seaweed emulsions are great standbys.

Compost is a necessity.
