We use these to feed our trout, anyone ever used it as fertilizer? It's made from fish by-product ( herring I think).

Any doubts what so ever put it in compost first. Usually I would go right to the fall prep with it. That give it all winter to mellow out into the total of the patch.

My last such addition was when my wife's horse died. I would not purchase any for garden use. The bag label will tell you exactly what is in the bag by percentages of content.

I have some left over food from my last pond as well. I was curious about the same thing. I don't think it would hurt. Test it with a few seeds, indoors right now, it may be ok.

I used them before, and would again if i could only get as good of a deal as i did before. the stuff i used was Wardens (or Wardley's, can't remember the name) goldfish pellets enriched with vitamin C. Wal-Mart just happened to be heaving their bagged stuff, so i got it for only 1 or 2 dollars per bag (20# bags i think). If anyone out there can get it cheap, let me know. worked very well for me.
