So I heard that because there is copper in the Urea mate you shouldn't use it with TKO. Before I knew this I used about 2oz of Urea mate with about 6 to 8 oz of TKO mixed with 275 gal of water for 3000sqft.Plants look great and pumpkins are popping everywhere. Is there really a problem with the amount of copper in the Urea mate with that much TKO and water. This goes back to a question I had a long time ago about dilation rate and fertilizers.

Maybe there is not enough copper in the urea mate to cause an adverse reaction. I think the main reason you are not supposed to mix copper with other things is it causes it to precipitate into a big old goopy mess in your sprayer. It will clog everything up.

Some products can be mixed with copper fungicides. It should say on the label, but not always. They say to do a small test batch first.

Copper will coagulated and make a gel. Do a Jar test prior. Calcium Nitrate and Copper Sulfate will make a mess in a sprayer

Mike, I'm using both also this year and I was advised to be cautious and not spray both products on the leaves. Any amounts of copper can be a problem with TKO. I use a drip system, so I run the Urea Mate through the drip and foliar spray / drench with the TKO. That way only one product is hitting the leaves. Definitely don't spray any copper fungicides within the time frames listed on the TKO label or you will burn your leaves.

What Barry said.
The problem is the copper I use doesn't gel up with this product. This is how I forget! lol

Ask steve connolly what happened to his 1674 after he applied mixed copper sulfate and TKO.

Actually Steve was the one who told me about not mixing them. I overhead sprayed the mix. But Didn't get the reaction he did. I don't know if it was the amount of each I used or the dilution rate in 275 gal of water. so I was curious about others experience with them.

I foliar feed Urea Mate (alone) regularly with my backpack sprayer and haven't experienced any gumming.

If you were to look at how many ppm your water was it might have been so diluted it didn't matter I know I have mixed things in small amounts of water like a sprayer and had issues I also have mixed things in my tote and never had an issue I think it has to be of a certain ppm to have an issue it's always best to test mix but I say if it worked and no issues on plants what's the issue I don't typically mix tko with much however in a rotation I do worry about the follow up feeding like tko on Monday and copper on Wednesday
