hey you

Greencastle, PA

what does it say on the package?

Some growers fertilize daily, and some growers never make it to the weigh-off! I fertilize once a week, and not at all in September unless weather is still warm and pumpkin is still growing.

Good luck!

September should be OK to fertilize.... especially if its a warmer area and if you started your plants a bit later.

What is the reason for not fert'ing in Sept? I live in California and we have warm Oct.'s usually. Is the reason because you don't want to split? Why?

Here in Pa., Sept. is a slow month for growth. Over fertilizing and overwatering could be disastrous in this climate when everything starts cooling down and slowing down. I just let my pumpkin "finish out" by itself with a little watering when needed. The fruit must also be kept dry to avert disease.
