Tatters are carbohydrates. They will excite the biological side of your patch nicely. If I had my druthers I would like to have the pealings which would carry more value than just plain carbs. This would serve as a sweet, in one sense, somewhat like molasses. Please note I did not say as good as molasses. How much to use and how ofter will require some observation. You could add right many to your compost pile too. They should help your pile heat up and stay heated up in the aerobic state which is good. If you smell rotton spuds there will be no doubt you put in to many. The answer is quick you need some nitrogen to ballance the mix.
