Watering in the sun will not damage leaves? I was always told not to water when the sun was very hot because it would magnify through the droplets and burn leaves.

The rain does not wait till the sun goes down so I will agree with Southern.

I always try to water in the early morning hours. If my schedule does not let me, I will water in the afternoon or evenings. Be careful when watering in the evenings as to not give diseases a heathly enviroment to breed.

This should not be confused with midday misting. I will mist my plants with water between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to cool the plants on extremely hot days.

Alot depends on the genetics of the plant. I have had plants that wilt badly in heat and others that showed less stress from the high temps. Watch them closely all day. Dean

Agreed. Midday misting should be light enough to dry before evening. But the old wives tale refuses to die. Probably caused by the resulting fungal diseases of the foliage.

So I should set up some sort of mist type system for my patch. What would you suggest? I don't want to waterlog the ground, correct? It does not get all that hot her in Vermont sometimes we may get an 90 deg day, mostly 80's.

I'm wrestling with the correct low volume emitter here myself. I'll start another thread.
