I am in Northern NJ and have a big max plant that covers only about 30 square feet (the reason being that my main vine snapped about 2 feet down because at time i had no clue what i was doing). Most of the length is in secondary vines and i am pruning all terciaries. I have 2 pumpkins set, the size of a softball and of an old dollar coin (12 lobes and 9 lobes) I have been feeding with 18-19-30 fertilizer and growth seems to be slow. How big of a pumpkin can i expect for my doorstep this halloween?

P.S. I am a first time grower!

How old are the ones the size of a softball? The fertilizer you are giving will help, but if I was to guess a final size I would only say at most 50-60 lbs.......Paul

Divyan,,,I have to plants that were planted together in the same hill,,,before I found big pumpkins,,,Only 1 pumpkin on each vine..The past week they are growing at a rate of 2" over the top,,only measurements I have been taking..I'm feeding them miracle grow tomatoe food every day except when I give it some 0-0-60..I give it the 0-0-60 bout once a week..a good side dressing...I'm looking for 75-100 lbs a piece,,,I hope anyway..vines are really stressing out in heat of the day,so I put a tarp over most of the plant during the middle of day,,then move it later in the day..The vines are probably less than 25 ft. on each..Just work with it each day,,and keep it fed,,as it wants to eat too...
