I have everything ready to make high quality tea.Airpump, 12 gallon drum, Elaine Inghams 4th edition,etc... The question is how do I know my tea will have the right amount,if any, of beneficial bacteria & fungi I am looking for? I will probably be buying my compost from North Country Organics. Dave

Dave...........if you use the quality aerobic compost you can produce aerobic tea in direct relationship of the quality of equipment and what it will do. On the North Country organics Web Site on the pages featuring the Biti-Bobulator there are a lot of helps as well as test results showing what the Biti-Bobulator did using the compost you say you are planning to use. They have both bacteria, fungi and micro minerals you may use to beef up your tea. Instructions and expected results may be deducted from the test reports.

The only missing factor will be an unknown because your producing equipment is not a tested situation. I don't know how you over come that without paying to have your home made machine tested.

I love to do stuff like you have just done but when I get to the end of a project and can not easily prove it's value I become a most unhappy scout. That is why I bought the Biti-Bobulator. In relation to what I can do with it over my whole property flora and fauna makes it worth the investment in my simple mind.

You may in fact be fine as you are. Proving it may be tricky. I hate to say this but if you drench and wet foliage of a test plant and do not burn them you will be OK. If it burns your test plant you are still in an anaerobic stage. Aerobic tea will not burn and can hardly be over applied. Unfortunately while you wait to prove your batch you will lose the value of the product. It must be applied within an hour or two from completion to achieve maximum use of your bacterial active tea.

Now I've confused myself...how about you? :) I think this is about what I see Elaine saying. North Country Organics is one of several firms that have proven the quality of the machine and the compost from which the tea is made and show their test results.

If this is not proven I would not consider purchasing the system from anyone or company.

Dave..the way I see it, if you aereate the heck outa the stuff for 3 days you're probably not gonna hurt anything with it. Spread it out "conservatively" (which means don't drown) a little away from the plant initially and watch it's response. Act according to the plant's response, or lack of. If it's aerobic, you'll tell by the smell.

That last statement was confusing...Allright, if it smells bad when you're done making it, don't use it. Sweet smell, OK.
