We've gotten so much rain that I am researching leaching. This connects the dots out to another topic that should be of interest: amino acids.
There's not as much proof presented here that this could really work, but its an interesting idea. In theory, these exploring these lines of thinking could help achieve good soil and a robust plant growth and maybe reduce the depletion of our soil:
