My watering system is run by a clock. Would it be better to water for 10 minutes one time a day, or water 3.5 minutes three times a day?

That all depends on "How Much Water " your system puts out
per minute.


Persionally I water my plants from what my Moisture meter
tells me, My meter runs from a 0 LOW ( needs water in worst way) to 10 ( dont water TOO MUCH water already in soil)

These past 2 weeks have been HOT and HUMID last week
it was HOT days and warmish nights, we got hit sunday
with allot of rain then again on Wed and thursday
dureing the entire week last week the needle on my gauge
sat around the 8-9 Area on the meter, From Friday- sunday
temps have been in the high 80's low 90's with plenty of sun. Sat I watched the needle on my moisture meter go from
9 ( HIGH ) 7am to 1 ( LOW NEEDS WATER) 2pm sat afternoon.

Sat evening i lightly tilled around the patch and did a complete DEEP soaking for a good 1h4 i had a jar set in the patch and in 1 hr my patch recieved 2" of water evenly,
sunday my plants were upright with NO wilt ( unlike sat afternnon)
Persionally I go by the moisture meter myself.

But you should actually find out HOW MUCH water your system puts out "evenly" every minute use a jar and see JUST how much or how long you have to run your watering system to lay a good 1-2" of water within the patch. Pumpkings needs
at least 1-2" of water per week to grow well ( from my reasearch)

P.S When its in the High 80's Low 90's I find myself putting down a good 1" of water every 4th- 5th day.
