Don't know if I'll ever have a pumpkin big enough to stuff my 6'2" son in but he's interested.Anyone instate interested in a ferry down the Cedar-Iowa or Wapsi or other?Last year I know there were preseasonal unscheduled tearjerking launchings after local monsoons.

You might want to check with Anamosa Chamber of commerce to see if they want to add that as another Sunday Pumpkinfest activity. Last year they just had the pancake breakfast and golf tournament for Sunday. You will need to figure out how to get those monster fruits off a truck and into the river. You will likely need a big boom truck like Don Young uses in his business.
I know that Dave Sunlin agrees with me that we don't want our pumpkins launched until AFTER the weighoff.

Old post, but I agree that it would be great to add to the festivities at Anamosa, and would probably garner some additional media exposure.
