I plan on growing a variety of sunflowers, thanks to the good people on this site, and I was wondering if the soil my pumpkins are using is suitable for them.
Thanks

Sunflowers will do very well in a pumpkin prep-ed plot. They love fertile soil but do fairly well even in poor soils.........G

glenn's right sunflowers do very well in pumpkin preped soil i also like that phrase i planted a mix of sunflower seeds i bought at walmart the tall big headed varity i planted grew to 9 ft tall and had heads from 19" across the biggest down to 12" the multiheaded types had 7-8" heads some with as many as 20 flowers per plant and all i wanted them for was to block the view of my patch from the road

I have crappy soil in my unprepared areas and I am over run with volunteer sunflowers. I have found that they will grow almost anywhere, and in any type of soil.
