Do watermellons normally grow really slow? or should they grow fast like a pumpkin ?
Reason asked is because this is my first year growing watermellons I started 3 plants from seed roughly 2.5 weeks ago and plants took a week to germinate and now that they are out of soil its just sitting there doing nothing unlike pumpkins at 2.5 weeks they are already outgrown there current pots and have a few leafs already.
i'm just wondering if its the seed or if they normally grow this slow
thanks
Dave

They are much slower. They like it warm and sunny. Remember the plants do not end up as big a pumpkin plants either. Heck, if you got them to germinate you should be happy. Good Luck Growing.

Don't worry about them Dave. They'll pick up the pace once the weather warms up. They are a slower growing plant. Phil
