my dear sis and i would really like to try the corn again next season as this yr with the drought and overwhelming pests are corn did not produce any ears and although great for decortating purposes the reason we grow corn is to eat that and well as i have read its a natural wind barrier my question is where to get good seed that will actually produce ears wheather giant corn which she wants to grow or sweet corn we want to grow and eat corn lol the only yr she had success with corn was her first yr which was 2yrs ago and well sufice to say it was feed corn she was proud but you cant eat it and well now she knows sweet corn is what we like to eat so can someone tell me where to get good quality seed at a price that wont crush a budget and hopefully next season we will have ears and my sis will finally be a happy camper

Before you run out and buy or order online you need to find out which varieties will perform best in your area. Your county extension agent can recommend several varieties that have proven to do well where you live. Armed with that info, you can go to most local garden supply centers or feed/grain suppliers and find your seeds. In fact, buying it from a local supplier almost gaurantees it to be suitable for your area. It just wouldn't make sense for a local supplier to sell something that isn't suitable for where you live.
If you choose to buy from the internet, do your homework first and make sure you buy something that will grow where you live. What might grow well in the Azores may not do so well in Illinois.
