Hi all. I got some Large Blue and Large Yellow Columbine seeds from a grower this year, and I'd like to grow some for my Mom and Grandma. I don't know how or when though. Any help will help! Thanks, AleX Noel.

Get them started now if you can give them the light. They probably wont flower this year but will put on a show next spring.

Start now, in AG type conditions? Then how long until they're up? Then under flourescents? Until when? Transplant outdoors? Protect next winter? Thanks, AleX Noel.

Have the seeds been subjuect to cold yet...Columbine need like 30 days below freezing weather to help germination. A couple of weeks of freezing and thawing help also.

Freezing? I have no idea, not with me. I'll try to germ. some tonight, put some in the freezer. How long should I expect it to take for them to germ. if they are good? Thanks, AleX.

I have some started in the basement that I didn't subject to the cold. They took about 2 to 3 weeks to start in a cool basement they probably would have started faster with a cold spell first. I just put them on top of the soil and water them in, and wait. I wouldn't start them as warm as AG's, Plant them outside after frost time and they should grow fine they don't care for full sun and they will re-seed outside if your lucky. a light mulch in the winter cant hurt i usually just let them go on their own.
Do a google search on them and you will find more than you want to know.
