Hi everyone, I'm having a pretty good season with all of my garden, except for my lawn. No matter how I water and fertilize, the dandylions continue to dominate. Any suggestions???

Don't use weed killer, pick the young dandelion leaves, and make a salad! Also, the blooms make a "killer" dandelion brandy!

Weed-b-gon lawn weed killer #2..It's the one with the blue stripe. Great on dandelions and clover. use purple strip for chickweed and real hard to kill clover. Two weeks reapply in august fill in the holes with grass seed the dandelions will be gone. Chuck

Chuck,
What did a dandelion ever do to you? At least my answer is "organic", not to mention quite tasty, and nourishing as well!

Hey Kilr, I'm with you on this organic thing. Maybe we should have a giant dandelion contest.

Thanks guys! I like the idea Kilr. I haven't heard from blkcloud lately, so it's nice to hear some one with some "different" food ideas!

I like a dandelion free lawn, but it's darn near impossable to do it if any dandelions are nearby. If the weeds in my lawn are low and green, I try to control them with weed and feed, maybe twice a year, and then winterizer in the fall. My lawn isn't perfect, but there are not a lot of dandelions.

Hey Alexsdad, I appreciate your advice as well. You're right, I did ask how to get rid of the weeds. But after Kilr's advice, I'm starting to rethink that plan. I have so many dandelions I could probably harvest the buggers and sell them at the market!

What can you sell them for at the market? $1 a ton?

Even at that low price, I could probably retire with the amount I have!!!

your gonna need a lot of grass seed in august to fill in the HOLE. Dandelion won't take if they don't have an opening in the lawn. Once you get yours under control. The neighbors stuff won't bother you. Mine was the same way when I started. Now when I see clover or a dandelion i grab a small spray bottle to handle it.

Dig a little deeper and come up with the whole root. Dry the root. Grind dry root with spoon. Instant Coffee! Not jolking. Not to bad. Likely better than Denny's.
