I have been trying to spray all of my fruit trees for bugs and especially my peaches for brown rot. Nothing ever seems to work. I have come to the conclusion that all over the counter ortho, etc, products are just a money pit with little to no results...... There has to be some product out there that will kill all bugs on my apples, peaches, nectarines, cherries, and plums. There also has to be something that will cure this brown rot problem I have once and for all??? Sometimes the solutions are simple and big companies wont say anything so they can suck your wallet dry.. Does anyone have MY FIX?????????????????????????

A very popular product, that has been used for generations over here, is Jeyes Fluid. Jeyes Fluid has been used as a fall/winter wash for using on fruit trees to eridacate insect and fungal problems but is no longer labeled for such uses. However, if you can obtain Jeyes Fluid in the USA it is well worth a try. Here is a weblink to the Jeyes Fluid page.... http://www.jeyes.co.uk/htm/jeyes-fluid.htm

Jeyes Fluid is/was also commonly known as an Autumn Wash Tar Oil by many Gardeners and estate hands.

Hope that helps a little

Mike

Sure glad you posted this question, I too need help with when to spray. I have all the info but still not sure. As for brown rot, this is hard to really control, but be sure to clean up allthe fallen fruit and remove any mummies from the tree. Check with your local extension office, county government. They should have free booklets on growing fruit. Will do some research for ya and write more later. Croley Bend

From my experience, the timing of the application may be even more important than what is sprayed.
