If anyone has suggestions or a spray schedule for apples they are willing to share I would like to hear it. For the past 12 years I have been using Imidan for insects and Captan for fungicide for my backyard apples. I mix the 2 with a sticking agent. Seems to work just ok depending on the season.

I am just thinking there must be something newer better that a backyard orchardist can use. Thanks

Neem Oil or other horticultural oil as soon as daytime temperatures hit 45 degrees. Again just as you see the buds start to move. The rest of the sprays I use on apples and peaches are combination spray for fruit trees as sold by Miller Nurserys. The first combination goes on at pink bud, another at pettle drop then every seven to ten days later or after a driving rain...which ever comes first. Works good here when I work good. :))

There aren't many outlets that offer Organosilicone surfactants. Fewer still are packaged & labeled for home orchard use. I should have quarts packaged for the 2007 spray season if all of the concerned parties sign on the right lines. LOL

I did a Nova study on edible apples (Eagle on ornamentals) in 2004/5. These new surfactants made a HUGE difference in efficacy.
