My neighbor has a peach tree next door and I have gathered alot of the seeds off the ground and now have around 20 to 25 trees growing inside that are about a foot to 2 foot tall. My first couple tries trying to get the seeds to germinate was like 2 out of every 10 seeds but now that I have the hang of it its about 60% germination. I take the outter shell completly off the seed and plant it, seems to germinate alot better this way for me. I was wondering if anyone had any tricks to germinating a peach seed, what is a good temperature to germinate this kind of seed?
I was also wanting to know if you need two peach trees planted next to each other so they will produce fruit? I have read that it takes anywhere from 2 to 3 years before you see fruit on a new peach tree, has anyone seen fruit sooner this this? Any tips would be great cause it looks like Im going to have a peach orchard if I dont stop practice germinating the seeds.lol

You may need two different varieties to produce fruit. If this is the case the peaches will not come true.

Any peach trees I have seen do not require a pollinator.

I thought all fruit trees were grafted onto a different, heartier root stock?

Most fruit trees are grafted, but since you already have trees growing, Why can't you take a branch from the mother tree, and graft it on to one of the peach trees you planted. I like a 35 degree angle, but you should try grafting your tree. It will be time soon.
