Anyone that may be able to provide an insight on what the chances are of growing a decent watermellon in the climate of British Columbia. I live in North Vancouver, BC and we have great pumpkin growing weather, I am just not too sure about giant watermellons. I've got some great seeds from the GVGO and don't want to waste them if all I am going to grow is lettuce and greenery.
Thanks/Glenn

Jim Sherwood & other WC growers claim you can't, but if you can keep them over 80 F for the most of the summer, I can't see why you couldn't get one over 100#. You might want to consider a bigger greenhouse structure is you can't get them up to those temps daily. If your going to try some, I'd start them now. Good luck, Glenn & feel free to email me if you have any questions.
