Does anyone know of a way to find out what a states record is for a certain vegetable?

unfortunately, I have tried to find records in colorado. the problem,
1. Here say. ex my neighbor grew a 100 pound watermellon 50 yrs ago.
2. Allot of growers didnt use a certifed scale(i am guilty of that)
3. Pictures of the vegie but nothing to use as a scale.
4. newspapers sometimes enlarge the weight.
