Subject: help with seed germination

I was folowing some instructions on how to start a seed in paper towl, andwhen i went to go check the seed this morning, the seed had started to split in half.

The seed splitting in half is the normal process of sprouting, The seed shell has to split to let the growth out!!! Now might be a good time to get that seed into a germination chamber @ 85F!!! Damp, not moist starting mix, wait a couple more days, and hopefully you will see movement, and growth above the soil!!! Hope this helps!! Peace, Wayne

the inside is pale, there are no roots at all. The instructions said there should be small roots forming

did you file the seed all the way to the point? if you filed the piont to much you may have damaged the root end the seed will just split in half and die. the root is what the cots grow off
